Alexander Porfirjewitsch Borodin
(31. Oktober/12. November 1833 - 15./27. Februar
1887) war als Universalgelehrter, sowohl ein bedeutender
russischer Komponist als auch Chemiker und Mediziner.

composer of Georgian parentage who made his living
as a notable chemist. He was a member of "The
Mighty Handful," a group of composers dedicated
to producing a specifically Russian kind of art
